This was the first project we started after we took over the business. One of the personnel at a pediatrics office contacted us after the building was being designed. They had a special podium built for the aquarium. We had a challenge as we had to have the hoses and the electrical cords had to be hidden. They wanted a special design of aquarium, very different from other aquariums. We then ordered a 72 gallon bow front. The stand was redesigned. The stand was disassembled and stripped to refinish the stand. Evan Young and Brent refinished it with an American Maple finish and installed the 72 gallon bow front on the stand.
The 72 gallon bow front uses a natural gravel with an undergravel filter and a power head 550 to circulate the water. There is an 306 Fluval canister filter under the cabinet to circulate the water and the bacteria to keep the water healthy. We opted against any lights at this time, since there is a lot of light from outside sources.
The vegetation is several bamboo plants and some driftwood. There is several decorations that double as air circulation. The hoses and electrical lines are run through conduits on the sides of the tank. The 72 gallon bow front is covered in the evening so that the fish have some down time.
The 72 gallon bow front is stocked with several colorful glofish tetras. The fish are fed twice a day by the client and is provided by Aquarium Leasing & sales.
